South Korea plans to impose temporary anti-dumping duties on single-mode optical fibers originating from China

On September 8th, according to the China Trade Remedy Information Network, the South Korean Ministry of Planning and Finance issued Announcement No. 2025-179, stating that it will impose temporary anti-dumping duties on Single Mode Optical Fiber originating in China for a period of four months. Specifically, as follows:


The tax rate for Jiangsu Hengtong Optic Electronic Co., Ltd., Yangtze Optical Fiber and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company, Hangzhou Jinxingtong Optical Fiber Technology Co., Ltd. and its affiliated enterprises, as well as other Chinese manufacturers/exporters, is 43.35%


The effective period of the measures is from September 19, 2025 to January 18, 2026. Stakeholders should submit their comments before September 14, 2025.


It is reported that on March 7, 2025, South Korea launched an anti-dumping investigation on single-mode optical fibers originating in China. The anti-dumping investigation period of the case is from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, and the damage investigation period is from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2024. On July 24, 2025, the Korea Trade Commission made a positive preliminary ruling on the case and recommended that the South Korean Ministry of Planning and Finance impose temporary anti-dumping duties on the products involved.
