EU makes final anti subsidy ruling and adjusts anti-dumping duties on single-mode fiber optic cables in India

Recently, the European Commission issued a notice stating that it has made a final decision on anti subsidy for Single Mode Optical Fiber Cables originating in India, and has decided to impose anti subsidy duties of 3.7% -8.1% on the products involved. At the same time, the anti-dumping duty on Indian products involved in the case has been adjusted to 2.9% -8.8%. The EU CN (Combined Nomenclature) code for the product in question is ex 8544 7000 (TARIC codes are 8544700010 and 8544700091). The subsidy investigation period for this case is from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023, and the damage investigation period is from January 1, 2020 to the end of the subsidy investigation period. The announcement shall take effect from the day after its publication.

On May 17, 2024, the European Commission launched a countervailing investigation into single-mode fiber optic cables originating in India.

On November 16, 2023, the European Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation into single-mode fiber optic cables originating in India. On December 16, 2024, the European Commission made a final positive anti-dumping ruling on Indian products involved in the case, officially imposing anti-dumping duties at a rate of 6.9% to 11.4%.
